Our Story

Serving the Montgomery and Surrounding Communities since 2004, our mission at Animal Hospital of Montgomery is to help your pets live happier, healthier lives by providing exceptional quality medical and surgical care in a compassionate environment. 

What began as a vision for modern, state-of-the-art veterinary care has grown into a full-service veterinary hospital, boarding facility, and doggie day camp, serving Montgomery and surrounding areas. 

Throughout our growth, we’ve remained committed to ensuring pets and their families receive individual attention and customized treatment plans in a comfortable, caring environment.

Dr. Joey Romero

Dr. Joey Romero

Veterinarian

Dr. Joey Romero earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University, completing his clinical training at Louisiana State University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Romero is married to his wife, Mandy, and together they have a son, Breck. His professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and he enjoys spending time outdoors when he’s not in the clinic.

Dr. Sarah Gottwals

Dr. Sarah Gottwals

Veterinarian

Dr. Sarah Gottwals earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences after completing her undergraduate studies in Animal Science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Her professional interests include preventive medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Gottwals enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and her dog, Bailey.

Dr. Thaddeus Chatman

Dr. Thaddeus Chatman

Veterinarian

Dr. Thaddeus Chatman is a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian with a special interest in dentistry and exotic animal medicine. He began his journey in animal care at the illustrious Prairie View A&M University, where he earned his degree in Agriculture with a focus on Animal and Food Sciences. He went on to receive his veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing his clinical year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Chatman has experience in emergency medicine and brings a calm, thoughtful presence to every case. He is especially passionate about helping clients better understand their pet’s dental health and enjoys working with a wide variety of species—including the more unusual, exotic companions.

When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Chatman enjoys music and is a classically trained flutist. His blend of scientific knowledge and artistic precision brings a unique perspective to veterinary medicine. Whether he’s treating a routine case or an urgent emergency, Dr. Chatman is committed to providing personalized, high-quality care to every animal he sees.

Dr. Gabrielle Cuttler

Dr. Gabrielle Cuttler

Veterinarian

Dr. Gabrielle Cuttler is a graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include wellness and preventive care, acupuncture, ophthalmology, and surgery. She believes in a whole-health approach—for both her patients and herself. Whether in the clinic, at the barn, or on the road, Dr. Cuttler combines skill, compassion, and adaptability to provide exceptional care and create positive experiences for pets, clients, and colleagues alike.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Cuttler is passionate about healthy living and making the most of each day. She enjoys working out, skiing, riding horses, exploring new cities, and trying new restaurants. She loves meeting new people, embracing challenges, and finding adventure in everyday life.
